M. Glenn Curran, III

M. Glenn Curran, IIIEDUCATION. Mr. Curran received his undergraduate education at Duke University (Bachelor of Arts Degree, cum laude, 1982) and completed his legal education at Mercer Law School (Juris Doctor Degree, 1985) where he was a member and Articles Editor of the Mercer Law Review.

ASSOCIATIONS. Mr. Curran was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1985 and the District of Columbia Bar in 1986. In the federal system, he is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. In addition to the Florida and District of Columbia Bar Associations, he is a member of the Broward County Bar Association, the Association of South Florida Mediators and Arbitrators, and the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators, as well as various other committees and associations related to his practice areas. He is also the co-author of "Extension of Collateral Estoppel to Evidence from a Prior Acquitted Crime" 35 Mercer Law Review 1419 (1984).

EXPERIENCE. Mr. Curran is a trial attorney with more than twenty-five years of experience in many facets of commercial, corporate, insurance, probate, divorce, and family law. He focuses primarily, however, in the area of corporate law with an emphasis on litigation. (For specific experience, see our Firm Profile.) Mr. Curran has represented business entities from sole proprietorships to Fortune 500 corporations. Mr. Curran has been awarded an AV® Preeminent™ rating by his peers through Martindale-Hubbell. He is listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers as well as being listed in Who's Who in Executives and Professionals. In addition to litigating in state and federal courts, Mr. Curran has been qualified and testified as a litigation expert on attorneys' fees and costs on several occasions in both state and federal courts. Mr. Curran is also trained as and certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Mediator (since 2001) and is qualified by the Florida Supreme Court as an Arbitrator. In 2008, he formed ControlAltDispute to meet what seemed to be an extreme need for Christian alternative dispute resolution. PERSONAL. Mr. Curran was born in Coral Gables, Florida, in 1960, to Marshall and Linda Curran. Approximately one year later, they moved to Fort Lauderdale where he and his two sisters were raised and educated through high school. After college and law school, Mr. Curran returned to Fort Lauderdale to pursue his career and in 1989, he married Sandy Higerd. Their daughter Kelsey was born in 1990 and their son Kyle in 1992. Mr. Curran is an ordained Ruling Elder in the Presbyterian Church of America, an avid outdoorsman, and a hopeless technophile. Mr. Curran has served for many years on the Board of his favorite ministry, Sheridan House Family Ministries.

 

Annette M. Novela

Annette M. NovelaEDUCATION. Ms. Novela received her undergraduate education at Nova Southeastern University (Bachelor of Arts Degree, 2003) and completed her legal education at Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center (Juris Doctor Degree, 2007) in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where she was an editor for the International Journal.

ASSOCIATIONS. Ms. Novela was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2007. She is a member of the Florida Bar Association and the Broward County Bar Association.

EXPERIENCE. Ms. Novela is continuing her legal experience in the fields wills, trusts, domestic and family law, general civil litigation, and claims adjusting/negotiating.

PERSONAL. Ms. Novela was born in Key West, Florida, in 1978, to Gustavo and Virginia Novela. She has one older brother who is a teacher.

 

Marshall G. Curran, Jr.

(retired)

EDUCATION. Mr. Curran was born in 1928 and received his Bachelor's degree from the College of Wooster and his LLB from Duke University. He was admitted to practice in Florida in 1955 and practiced as a civil trial attorney more than forty years, but has since retired.
